Our Story

First Comes Love....
I met CJ way back when I was 15. His best friend was the older brother of my best friend and they had both invited us to a movie the summer before my Sophomore year...that was the first time we were introduced, {However} he did catch my eye at their combined birthday party the previous February (what can I say? He is mighty handsome) Apparently after the movie that we both went to he would always ask about me and when school started up we always managed to spare a few seconds in-between class to stalk talk to each other. Finally in mid-October he asked me on our first date...to a haunted house...which I absolutely hate...but I couldn’t say no, he is just too darn cute. So I agreed to go and we had a really great time. Things picked up from there. We began to see each other more and more. This continued through the summer, which was the summer after CJ graduated. During this time we had talked about what would happen between us when he left on his LDS Mission. We decided it would be best to break things off before he left so that he could focus on serving the Lord for the full 2 years. Although I agreed that we should break up I didn’t want him to forget about me so I wrote him every week of his mission. The time finally came when he was to come home (one week before Christmas too!) and to say I was excited is a BIG understatement. I could hardly contain my excitement!!! Three days after being home, he asked me to go out to dinner with him. We went to his favorite Hawaiian restaurant, Mokis, and went back to my house to visit with the family. He kept telling me that he wanted to date other people but I still managed to get to see him almost everyday - I mean you don’t want to give up something good right? So I didn’t. Anyway, as things got more serious between us, we started discussing the thought of marriage and even took a look at a few engagement rings. On May 2nd he popped the question and I of course screamed and balled my eyes out said yes.
Then Comes Marriage....
We both wanted a winter wedding but didnt want to wait for winter to roll around so we settled on a date in August. As we started to make plans it became apparent that August just wasn't going to work so we then set the date for July 29, 2011. We were sealed for eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on a beautiful Friday afternoon, which was followed by a reception at Gardner Village. It couldn’t have been more perfect.
Then Comes a Baby...
We had some discussion on when we wanted to start a family and had decided to wait a few years until CJ was done or almost done with school. However, the Big Man upstairs had other plans for us because a week before Christmas I found out that we were expecting. We were both in shock at first but were so excited -and scared- that we would be bringing a little one into our lives. We had been living under my in-laws and had been able to save up some money to use as a down payment on a house. We finally closed on a cute starter home on August 3, 2012 and our little man arrived just 10 days later-only 2 days after we actually moved into our home.

That little man is already a year old and we both can’t believe how fast time flies. Now we are just a happy little family, who has managed to acquire 2 rowdy pups, enjoying life and learning the ins and outs of being a home owner.
